ORGANIC
SYNERGY:
This series is inspired by my
love of nature and represents the interconnectedness of all living
things. I see more color than most people are aware of and I choose to
highlight that in these paintings. |

NEO GEO:
These paintings are based on the
geometric symbols used by Native Peoples of the Americas, Africa, and
Australia. The symbols have been tightly packed together to show how
modern society has crowded these ancient civilizations into smaller and
smaller areas. I have chosen vivid colors to show the vitality
that existed in these sometimes forgotten cultures. |

MYTH &
MEMORY:
Did our myths come from our
collective memory? Or is our memory influenced by mythology? The
continuity of the brushstrokes evokes a sense of timelessness. The
angularity of the shapes brings it starkly into the present. |

NATIVE
IMAGES:
Even to this day, there are
respected, well-known artists on the Northwest coast of North America
who carve totem poles. I have tried to honor this tradition by
abstracting parts from different totem poles and using intense color
saturation. The Southwest images are from the Hopi and Navajo
traditions. |
